Program Highlights

Optional Workshop – Wednesday, October 7, 2009

The NRAA workshop will be all day Wednesday with a special focus on Conditions for Coverage compliance. Building off the widely successful format of the 2008 Workshop, this full day session will provide practical, hands-on tools that you can apply to your company for conditions for coverage compliance.

The Wednesday workshop session will feature a special presentation on:

Applying the Toyota Way and Lean Methods in the Dialysis Setting – Mike Rona, Rona Consulting Group
The Toyota Management System (TMS) is a proven system that allows its adopters to produce twice as much in half the time at half the cost with half the problems, and with a fraction of the inventory. Just like the manufacturers who developed this system, healthcare providers and managers must follow step-by-step procedures to produce the effects they wish to achieve, and when problems arise, they must first discover them, and then gather and process information to resolve them. This presentation will deliver proven techniques to make your operation more efficient, without sacrificing quality care. The number of successful applications of the Toyota Management System in the healthcare industry grows daily, and NRAA members are the next to learn how to apply this cost saving, value-added system!

Medicare Conditions for Coverage – update from CMS
A representative from CMS will join us for an update on surveys – what facilities can expect and what
you can learn and apply from others’ experience.

Conditions for Coverage - Practical Strategies for Compliance – Katrina Russell
NRAA’s resident expert on Conditions for Coverage, Katrina Russell, will offer updates and practical strategies to ensure that your facility is in compliance.
The afternoon of the Conditions for Coverage workshop will break into two concurrent tracks:
